Settle down class - Momma's back and I'm ready to blog!
As you may or may not know, we are hosting a young man from France who is 15 years old. His name is Pierre, and he is adorable. We've had him for one month and we are thoroughly enjoying him. (Golly, and we hope he remotely enjoys us!) We will have him until the end of June, and he attends school with Shark. He's really nice kid, and he has joined a soccer club here in Houston. His English is coming along amazingly! I'm very impressed.
Last night Mr Wonderful and I indulged ourselves in a getaway night at the Hotel Zaza. Love that place. We met 29 years ago Sept 9, so we decided to celebrate and it was awesome. Mr Wonderful reserved their Houston We Have a Problem concept suite. It was really cool! Very cleverly decorated. There was, however, a life size astronaut sculpture in the room, and several times it startled me! (Startled is sort of code for it scared the daylights of me more than once or twice!)
Yesterday before going over to Zaza, we attended an AFS (American Field Service) meeting for all the AFS Exchange Students and host families. Mr Wonderful and Shark were volunteering at and Toots decided she'd rather sleep. Who wouldn't? It was 9am on a Saturday morning. It's practically a crime in my book to get up and be somewhere that early on a Saturday. I digress - soooo anywho, we get to the meeting and then it starts at 9 freaking 20. Luckily another host family I adore (who also has a French boy) came and the host mom is one of those lovely, sweet people. Someone I aspire to be like. Then they take the exchange kids into a room, and the host families stay in another. 2 hours of chatting and telling the same stories about past kids over and over. For me if was a colossal waste of time. Afterwards, the before mentioned nice host mom and I took our French boys out to a French restaurant for lunch. Very fun!
Not only am I driving 3 kids all over this large city we love, but I am also into my latest obsession - It is wayyyy so fun. If you haven't tried it, try it! I have a desk covered in recipes I have printed, and some really fun "boards" as they are called on Pinterest with fun ideas for just about anything!
Ok, time to stalk and visit the other blogs I abandoned a few years ago when I became obsessed with Facebook.
